Ms. Marchetti and Mrs. Schwarzkopf ran an 8th grade iPad Academy for all 8th grade students the first week of school.  We set up student accounts in the various apps they will be utilizing throughout the year across the curriculum. Created Apple Classrooms for all Ms. Difruscio’s classes and trained her on how to use Apple Classroom as a classroom management tool. We also introduced Ms. Difruscio to Schoology, LMS, as a way to distribute and collect assignments from students.

Trained the entire 7, 8, 9, 10 grades as well as many of the 11th and 12th grade students on Notability.  Notability combines handwriting, photos and typing in a single note to bring projects and class notes to life. Students are able to capture every detail by imbedding pictures, drawings, webclips, sticky notes, etc into their class notes, homework, or whatever they are working within.  Notability also talks to Schoology allowing students to take a PDF from Schoology import to Notability, mock up and turn it back into their teacher’s Schoology assignment. Notability also backs up to Google Drive which is how students utilize GMHS iPads will have to store their notes. This is a powerful app that we have only begun to unpack, and more teachers will need to receive training.
